Guarding Your Heart and Staying Focused: A Treasure Hunt Through Proverbs 5
Have you ever felt like you were being pulled in too many directions?
As Christian work-from-home moms, we juggle a lot—homeschooling, business-building, ministry, homemaking—and in the middle of it all, the temptation to chase new ideas, compare our journeys, or get distracted is real.
This week on The Christian Work-from-Home Mom Podcast, we dug into Proverbs 5—not a typical chapter for business or productivity advice, but full of deep truth for those of us trying to walk wisely in a busy world.
Proverbs 5 Isn’t Just About Immorality
At first glance, this chapter seems like a warning against adultery—and it is. But underneath that is a powerful call for wisdom, focus, and faithfulness. In a world filled with enticing voices and flattering distractions, God invites us to stay rooted in the path He has given us.
Key Lessons from Proverbs 5:
- Flattering voices can be dangerous. Not every good idea is a God idea. We have to be discerning.
- Faithfulness is beautiful. God calls us to drink from our own well, stay committed to our calling, and resist the temptation to wander.
- God sees your path. Even when you feel unseen or discouraged, Proverbs 5:21 reminds us: "For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings."
Reflection Questions:
- What has God already given you to steward? Are you staying faithful?
- Are there voices in your life pulling you off course?
- What would it look like to double down on obedience instead of chasing something new?
If these questions stir your heart, I created a simple worksheet to help you reflect and respond. You can download it below:
